Presented by the French Pastry School

World class chefs and master chocolatiers will showcase classic techniques of chocolate making, from truffles to marshmallows so guests leave with an appreciation of the artisan craft of fine chocolate.

The Chocolate Art Gallery

The French Pastry School will be putting their art on display with exquisite sculptures made exclusively of chocolate for all to enjoy.

The Cake and Pastry Art Gallery

Presented by Icing Smiles and Edible Artists Network magazine

This area features amazing cakes and pasties created by some of the best chefs in Chicago and from around the US.


Educational sessions ranging from small batch chocolate making from bean to bar, leveraging and creating trends, sustainability in chocolate, the lifecycle of chocolate from the farm to table and more.

Fine Artisanal Chocolate Area

The Fine Artisanal Chocolate Area will feature products from the Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA) members and other top artisan chocolatiers from the United States and around the world like: handmade, small batch chocolate bars, truffles and bonbons and other chocolate sweets like salted caramels, panned nuts and fruits and macarons.

Pastry Chicago presents - The Amateur/Student Haunted Cupcake Competition

In its 7th year and this year at the Chicago Fine Chocolate & Dessert Show the contest attracts over 50 competitors. Contestants submit their most delicious and creative cupcakes and to compete for the grand price a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. Sponsored in part by Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, King Arthor Flour and Callebaut Chocolate.

Chef Allain Roby

Chef Roby will be creating a 1000 lb. all chocolate sculpture of an iconic Chicago saxophone player. This is something you must see to believe.

Chef Malika Ameen

Chef Ameen a graduate of the French Culinary Institute has worked at the Ritz Carlton, The Cub Room, Balthazar in Soho New York. In 2002 she moved west to become the executive pastry chef at the legendary Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. In 2009 she was selected as a contestant on Top Chef Just Dessert on Bravo TV. Come meet Chef Ameen and see the magic this magnificent chef can create.

The Story of Chocolate

Presented by the National Confectioners Association’s
Chocolate Council

From its natural origins deep within tropical forests, the Story of Chocolate is long and complex. Learn about the fruit of the cacao tree and the wonderful seeds used to create delicious chocolate. Find out where and how cocoa grows, who farms it and how chocolate is made. Visitors will be able to see cocoa pods and cocoa beans, taste cacao nibs and chocolate liquor and sample different types of finished chocolate products as they learn more about the origins and history of chocolate.

Restaurant Row

In 2012 we had 18 restaurants offering samples of their mouthwatering dessert creations. This year we hope to have as many as 50. Come taste what Chicago restaurants have to offer.

All Things Chocolate

From cakes, cookies, brownies and more, All Things Chocolate showcases chocolate as a defining ingredient in the broader pastry and culinary world.

Friends of Chocolate

Guests can explore how chocolate plays a role in other facets of our lives from chocolate spa experiences, literature, entertainment and even a possible career in pastry.
